Bio-Fuel info you're not made aware of...
- Low Sulfur Fuel = gives you less MPG, shorter equipt. life and less torque...
- Ethanol/Bio-Fuels = leaks in all rubber connectors - eats away at rubber, also: will need new fuel filters to not clog the newer contaminants from its usage, in order to also absorb water which can carry into/thru the engine to be burned and cause more problems.
- Reduces octane rating 3-5 units/points and mileage by as much as 25%.Possible pinging and offer less BTU energy value, as you will need more fuel to compensate for the loss BTU energy value...(buying more to get less) To compensate for the lost energy value and efficiency, you need to have 25% less in PRICE to just break even.
- Bio-fuels/Ethanol should cost about 13-25% LESS than regular fuel costs and savings should be passed along to the consumer usually $.30 - .70 cents per gallon... (which is NOT usually the case).
- These fuels reduce carbon emissions, but "increase" NOX and VOC gases that contribute to smog. Only reduce GHG emissions 18-29% (Argonne National Lab - US Dept of Energy source). Cornell Univ. found that ethanol takes up to 40% more energy to produce than it provides as a fuel.
- The US Govt made it a law that the auto companies by 2022 that mileage should increase from 32 mpg to 35 mpg...thats 1 mpg per every 5 years... we can do that NOW...not years away with our technology.
- Prof. Mark Jacobson - Stanford Univ - Ethanol: "its not green in terms of air pollution, may create dirtier air"...
