Will it void my vehicle's warranty?
NO... The Magnuson-Moss Act of 1975 prohibits vehicle manufacturers from voiding vehicle warranties because of an installation of an aftermarket part. The only time a new vehicle warranty can be voided, if an aftermarket part has been installed, it has to be proven that it is responsible for an emission warranty claim. A vehicle manufacturer/dealership cannot void a warranty simply because an aftermarket equipment has been installed on a vehicle.
If a warranty claim is denied and you think it falls under the rules explained above concerning the clean air act (such as an emission part failure), please obtain a written explanation of the dealers refusal. Then phone/present your complaint to the EPA.
